The development consisted of a 138 bedroom budget hotel development with a gross development area of 45,000 sq ft and associated car parking. Olympian exchanged on the site on the 23rd December 2009, and planning permission for the scheme was granted on 29 September 2010 by South Cambridgeshire District Council. Terms were agreed on a 25 year agreement to lease with Travelodge on 31st March 2010. Construction work on the scheme commenced in Late November 2010, with works completed on 14th September 2011. The hotel commenced trading on 15th September 2011.
